After exploring his talents as an actor in films such as Kushal Prasad Ka Bhoot,Gulaal and Teen Patti among others,Pankaj Jha is now indulging his passion for painting. His works are on display at Bliss Art Gallery from March 7-28 in an ongoing-exhibition titled Inner Reflections . Jhas paintings allow a glimpse into his mind and a different world that exists in it. He has experimented with colours and visual texture in his paintings.
Kabir Revisited
Depending on stories you have heard or studied,Kabir may be a poet,a philosopher,a saint,or a social reformer. From March 27 29,city-based Black Swan is conducting trips to the epicentre of Kabirbani Dewas,a town in Malwa plateau of Madhya Pradesh to give enthusiasts an experience of what it truly means to be a Kabir bhakt . Kaluramji Bamaniya,one of the voices that has taken the essence of Kabirs words to the entire country,will be conducting bhajan sessions and discuss Kabirs philosophy with participants. In this region,entire villages come together to sing Kabir bhajans and sway in reverence.
Festival of Melodies
National award-winning Bharatanatyam dancer and actor Shobana Chandrakumar and renowned vocalist Vidvan T M Krishna are set to regale the city at the annual Carnatic music festival Dakshinayan. Organised by Banyan Tree Events,the event is aimed at popularising Carnatic music beyond South India and introducing uninitiated listeners to the intricate beauty of this genre of music. The programme will be held at 6.45 pm in Yaswantrao Chavhan Auditorium on March 15. Conceptualised by Mahesh Babu,managing director of Banyan Tree Events,the event first came to Pune five years ago with an impressive line up of artists.
