PDFA matches end in draw

On Friday,both matches in the Pune District Football Association league ended in draws. In the first match,Pune FC ‘A’,playing against CMS Falcon ‘A’,took the lead in the 10th minute through Zuber Desai,with a Nikhil Jhadav cross finding him unmarked at the far side of the goal.

However,CMS rallied and scored the equaliser in the 28th minute through Pankaj Gore,with Anup Nair providing the assist. For the rest of the match,both teams tried valiantly for a goal to take the lead but were ultimately unsuccessful. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

In the second match,. took on City Club and the latter took the lead through a brilliant solo effort by Matthew Sachinathan,who ran all the way from half-line before beating the opposition keeper in the 9th minute.

City Club kept pressing for a second goal but the City Police defence kept the attacks at bay. In the second half,a Bapu Raikar passed the ball to Kamlekar Gaikwad,who scored against the run of play in the 50th minute.

The match ended 1-1.
