Parents are again up in arms barely a day after the schools reopened. While the parents of Rosary School protested at the school’s Camp branch on Wednesday itself, parents of the Sinhgad School are going to protest on Friday with Neelam Gorhe and will submit their demands to the school authorities.

The parents of Rosary,on Wednesday, had alleged that the school had kept children who had not paid the fees in a separate room, which caused mental trauma to students. “My child was made to sit in a dark room. He still feels humiliated by the incident and was refusing to eat,” said Nilaph Naik, whose child studies in the school’s Vimannagar branch.

The parents had assembled at the office of the Commissioner of Child Welfare. “We have submitted our letter to the authority who said it will be forwarded to the department concerned in Mumbai. We are hoping for some action,” said Rosary Parents Association’s vice-president Syed Shaher Ali.

Meanwhile, parents of the PCMC area came together to form an association. “Our association will cater to the problems of all schools coming under the PCMC,be it the state board,ICSE or CBSE. We aim to assemble the parents and discuss issues related to fee hikes or any other problems being faced by them. In our first meeting held recently,we tried to talk to parents about the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE),” said Ikhlas Sayyad,a parent of SNBT School,Pimpri.

Anil Mahajan, member of the Sinhgad Parent’s Association said,“We will be presenting our demands to some school representative who can take some decision. We have been asking the school to withdraw its decision to hike fees for six months, but nothing happened. Instead of asking for the entire fee at one go,we want the school to take it in installments. We will place these in front of the school authorities on Friday.”
