A 15-member delegation,that included officers of Army,Navy and Air Force from United Kingdom,the USA,Ukrain,Italy,Czech Republic,New Zealand,led by Major General Sir SJL Roberts,KCVO,OBE,visited the National Defence Academy recently.
The officers are undergoing training at RCDS,United Kingdom,and have visited NDA as part of their training curriculum,said a press note from the NDA. Major General BS Grewal,Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of NDA briefed the delegation on various aspects of training curriculum and the recent initiatives in consonance with the long term perspective plan of the Academy, said the press release.
Major Bhajirath Dey,NDA spokesperson,said that the academy attracts many delegations from abroad because of its unique nature of training cadets of Army,Navy and Air Force together. The concept of joint-ness for success in war was felt long ago by the leaders which resulted in establishment of NDA,Dey said. NDA being a unique tri-services training institution is a preferred destination on the itinerary of important delegations. The officials were impressed by the training infrastructure and the efforts made towards environment conservation in the lush green campus spread across almost 8000 acres Dey said.
