New York-based company Emerson is set to acquire Virgo Valves and Controls,a Pune-based manufacturer of ball valves and automation systems

New York-based company Emerson is set to acquire Virgo Valves and Controls,a Pune-based manufacturer of ball valves and automation systems. The company will operate within Emerson Process Managements final controls business,serving customers in the energy and process-related industries. Mahesh Desai,co-founder and chairman of Virgo Valves,said,The alliance with Emerson is a continuation of our growth as a global brand.

Latur quake to be commemorated

Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana is set to organise a series of programmes to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Latur earthquake,on September 29 and 30,and will be aimed at creating awareness about disasters and its management. The programmes will be held at Wagholi Educational Rehabilitation Project Ground. A team of the 5th batallion of the National Disaster Response force will give a live demonstration of rescue operations undertaken. Equipment used by the National Disaster Management Authority during various natural calamities will also be exhibited.

All-India conference of excise officials held

An all-India conference of chief commissioners and director generals of the Central Excise Department Central Excise Tariff Conference- 2013 was held in Pune recently. The conference was convened to discuss various issues pertaining to revenue accruing models. It was organised by Sanjeev Behari,Chief Commissioner of Central Excise,Pune zone.
