The Osho Foundation has recently started using mass media to spread its messages to the world, and raise awareness about its ideals.

It was precisely this theme which was the topic of discussion at the presentation held on Friday, at the Osho Meditation Centre in Koregaon Park. Yogendra Darcy O’Byrne,an Osho disciple from England, conducted the presentation, which enlightened the attendees on the use of the worldwide web as a powerful tool to spread the message and ideals of Rajneesh Osho.

The Foundation has set up groups on websites like Facebook and Twitter, generating even more enthusiasm.

The effect is self-evident,with the Osho group having nearly 50,000 fans on Facebook, and 4,000 followers on Twitter.

With prominent names like basketball player Shaquille O’ Neal and Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher among the Twitter followers,O’Byrne estimated another 10 million potential followers.

“The Internet is an amazing tool to reach out to people and spread messages to places and people which would normally have been hard to reach,” said O’Byrne. “Through the web,we have managed to make Osho available to those who would normally not have access to it.
