Last year,we undertook a drive to spread awareness about this rule. A large number of students, especially those from rural area will now be appearing for science papers in Marathi and we hope that our book will be of great help for them.” He added that number of students taking science exam in Marathi is expected to grow from less than a thousand to about 10,000.

The book has been authored by Dilip Bokil,a retired physics instructor with intelligence bureau, and Subhash Phadke,an IIT Delhi alumnus and a Physics expert. Gore said,“We have covered every topic prescribed by the state board for Class XI Physics and have also tried to incorporate additional information and interesting facts.”

Highlighting the need of Science text books in Marathi for students from rural areas,Vidyasagar said,“Books like this would stop alienation of rural students and their parents from science. Many times there are factual errors in Marathi books but this one seems without such faults. More number of such books should come up.”

Remembering the language difficulties he faced in his first Physics class,Madhav Karve pointed out that such textbooks in native languages would bring diversity to the subject.
