No new GBS case, case count 130
Health officials have appealed to citizens not to panic. Officials have also appealed to private medical practitioners to notify any patient with GBS symptoms while people have also been urged to take preventive measures.

No new case of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) was reported on Thursday. However, state health authorities confirmed three cases identified earlier with GBS symptoms. The case count has now gone up to 130.

Two suspected GBS deaths have been reported while 20 patients are presently on ventilator. Of the 130 patients, 22 are in the 0-9 age group, 19 in the 10-19 age group, 30 in the 20-29 age group, 16 in the 30-39 age group, 13 from the 40-49 age group, 18 from 50-59 age group while 12 are in the 60-69 age group
The common symptoms of GBS include sudden onset of weakness in hands or legs and diarrhoea for a sustained period.
