A nine-day training programme for employees of the Administrative Training Institutes and Central Training Insitutes across the country will be held from Monday at Panchgani. The training will be conducted by IC Centre for Governance and Pragati Leadership. The second phase of the training will begin from September 30.
Arun Wakhlu, executive chairman,Pragati Leadership, said the Central Governments Department of Personnel and Training has been sponsoring a programme on Ethics in Public Governance for IAS officers since 2005. Due to the overwhelming response,DoPT has invited the IC Centre for Governance and Pragati Leadership Institute to develop a comprehensive and suitable module on Ethics and Values in Public Governance for all 39 ATIs and CTIs in India.
The Train the Trainer phase 1 module focuses on self discovery and enables trainees to work on their own ethics and values. The trainers will demonstrate their learnings in phase 2.
Wakhlu said the main aim of the module is to awaken the inner governance and inner vigilance of the employees. After the Train the Trainer, there would be pilot batches across the country where certificates will be given to trained faculty. The programme will help public servers to transform themselves and the larger society into practising and leading lives from the centre of ethics and values.
This project would help reduce the incongruence and provide for harmonious co-existence,mutual support and complimentary fulfilment that should exist among public officers and the civil society.
