Nails on highway: case registered

With the increase in number of cases of nails being strewn on certain patches of Pune-Mumbai highway to puncture tyres of vehicles,Pimpri police on Thursday registered a case against an unidentified person.

With the increase in number of cases of nails being strewn on certain patches of Pune-Mumbai highway to puncture tyres of vehicles,Pimpri police on Thursday registered a case against an unidentified person. Over the last few months,many incidents of tyres of vehicles getting punctured were recorded on the highway between Pimpri and Akurdi. Based on the complaint of one Vinod Naik from Pradhikaran,Pimpri police registered a case under Section 283 (Danger or obstruction in public way or line of navigation) of the Indian Penal Code. Deputy commissioner of police said that the case was registered and further investigation was on. Police suspect involvement of tyre repairing shop owners behind the incidents.
