State Industries Minister Uday Samant had directed all departments concerned to take immediate steps to resolve industrial issues in Hinjewadi IT Park.

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has been instructed to coordinate with other relevant departments to implement solutions.

While speaking at the review meeting of the Industry Department held in Pimpri-Chinchwad December 24, he assured the provision of infrastructure, land, and other necessary facilities to industries, as required, along with resolving issues like road congestion and parking.

MIDC Chief Engineer Nitin Wankhede, Regional Officer Archana Pathare, and representatives of various industry associations were present at the meeting.

IT companies, whose operations were slowed down due to the model code of conduct for the Assembly elections, are expected to pick up speed again. Remaining infrastructural works, like the widening of roads, construction of flyovers, and solid waste management projects in the Hinjewadi area, have not been completed yet.

Samant discussed the 17 issues previously raised by the Hinjewadi Industries Association (HIA).
These mainly included alternative roads in the IT Park, flyovers, and solid waste projects. Samant also assured follow-up with the Chief Minister regarding some of these issues, as they are related to the Chief Minister’s Office.

Besides Hinjewadi’s issues, Samant also reviewed the problems faced by industries located in the MIDC areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad and Talawade.

Sandeep Belsare of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Small Industries Association pointed out that the proposals for a separate fire station and a common sewage treatment plant for the industrial area are pending. In response, the Industries Minister instructed the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner to get both these projects underway immediately.

The minister also suggested investigating the status of plots allocated to industries at the Floriculture Park in Talegaon and considering reallocating unused plots to other industries. Additionally, he instructed the department to liaise with the Defense Ministry to address issues faced by industries in Talawade IT Park.

It was also disclosed that a designated plot in Phase III of the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park has been handed over to the police department for setting up a police station.

Shankar Salkar, a member of HIA, said that the 17 key points raised earlier with the authorities were discussed, and they received a positive response from the minister.
