After being staged to a packed audience last September, the play Imaan will be performed in the city on August 4 at Nehru Memorial Hall. Through the play, author and director Sameer Khan
explores the motivations and mindset of those Muslims who chose to remain in India after the Partition. The Hindustani play opens with the protagonist Hussains grandson coming home in tears when he is teased by his classmates as a Pakistani. He questions his grandfathers decision to remain in India. Weaving the story from 1947 to 1992,when the Babri Masjid was demolished,Khan projects Hussains predicament as he mulls over his choice. The performance will begin at 9pm.
