Man held with 2 Aadhaar cards at five-star hotel in Pune, probe on
An FIR in this case was lodged at the Yerawada police station Saturday.

A 48-year-old man was arrested from a five-star hotel in Yerawada area as he was found in possession of two Aadhaar cards having the same number, but different names and addresses, police said Sunday.
An FIR in this case was lodged at the Yerawada police station Saturday.
Police said they received information from the hotel staff who found the accused suspicious. Soon, the police went to the hotel and initiated a probe into the matter.
Police booked the accused under sections 420, 465, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code.
Police have seized two Aadhaar cards along with a cell phone from the accused for further investigation.
Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil said that the accused was found with possession of two Aadhaar cards, one with a Hindu name and another with a Muslim name. “Both the Aadhaar cards have the same number,” he said.
Police suspect that the accused may have converted his religion from Hindu to Muslim. But, police said, he allegedly had some arguments over payment of bills at the hotel. The hotel staff found his movements suspicious and called the police.
Senior police inspector Santosh Patil said the accused is a native of Tamil Nadu. As mentioned in FIR, he was now residing at a paying guest (PG) service in Wadgaon Sheri area.
Police suspect that the accused works in the hospitality sector, but a probe was on to confirm his occupation.
Investigation is on to know why he came to Pune carrying two Aadhaar cards with different names at the five-star hotel, police said.
