Man gets 1 year RI for offering bribe

Satyaraj Yakob Nadar from Kothrud has been awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment by additional sessions judge S M Pande for offering Rs 5,000 bribe to a government servant working in the district collectorate in February 2008. Pravina Borde,a senior clerk working in the citizens’ facilitation centre of the Pune district collectorate,had filed a complaint with the state anti-corruption bureau,accusing Nadar of offering her a bribe of Rs 5,000 to get the domicile certificate of her daughter. The court also fined Nadar Rs 1,000.
