The Maharashtra Cricket Association will conduct the Maharashtra Champions Trophy 2010,a three-day match cricket tournament which begins on Monday. It will take place simultaneously at four different venues around the city.
A total of eight teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament,out of which five teams- Rajasthan,Goa,Madhya Pradesh,Gujarat and Baroda are from outside the state,with MCA Seniors,MCA A and MCA Under-22 completing the lineup.
Two groups of four teams each have been formed,and each team will play three league matches,with the toppers of both groups facing off in the final to be held between October 8 and 10. All the league matches will be played simultaneously at the Poona Club,Deccan Gymkhana Ground,Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy and the Satara Cricket Ground.
The first leg will conclude on Tuesday,with the second and third rounds taking place between September 30/ October 2 and October 4/ October 6 respectively. said a press release.
