Transport office sets day to address citizens issues
Following instructions from state transport commissioner,the Regional Transport Office (RTO),Pune,has decided to address the issues of citizens regarding licences and other RTO-related issues,on second Monday of every month. The RTO has to deal with a number of queries by people and to provide them appropriate information a complaint redressal day will be organised on second Mondays, a press release said. If the second Monday happens to be a public holiday,it will be organised the following day at the RTO.
Activist Daniel dead
Moses Simon Daniel,a social activist from Pudumjee Park,passed away after a heart attack on Sunday afternoon. He is survived by wife,two sons,a brother,three sisters and mother. The funeral procession will leave his residence at 996,Serula Villa,Pudumjee Park at 3 pm on Monday.
Sampada Joshi Pune-Sinhagad docs association president
Dr Sampada Joshi has been elected president of the Pune-Sinhagad Doctors Assocation while Dr Abhay Pendse has been elected vice-president. Dr Kishore Bapat will be the secretary,Dr Kalpana Bhange treasurer and Dr B N Aher deputy secretary. The management committee members include Dr Minal Kulkarni, Dr Pallavi P,Dr S F Patil,Dr Paresh Joshi and Dr Mansi Pawar. Dr Joshi will take charge from outgoing president Dr Rajesh Berde.
Course in phonetics for English teachers next month
The department of linguistics at the Deccan College will conduct a course in Phonetics for Teachers of English from May 7 to 21. Participants will be introduced to basic notions in phonetics,including speech sounds,stress patterns and intonation. Jain Yuva Sangh holds second convention
