Nirmayee Nature Care Centre has been offering holistic solutions to all kinds of chronic ailments. The treatments mainly consist of yoga,naturopathy and hydrotherapy. Sedentary lifestyle,unhealthy eating habits,lack of physical activities are some of the reasons that are responsible for the rise in ailments like diabetes,obesity and arthritis. Explaining the course of treatment,Dr. Gayathri of Nirmayee Nature Care Centre says,“Naturopathy is a system of medicine which helps the diabetics lead a healthy life without complications,by using natural therapies like hydrotherapy (using water),mud therapy,acupressure therapy ,various packs,certain yogic asanas ,and diet counselling .

Discussion forum

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC),Pune,organised a CME programme on “Recent Advances in Ophthalmology and Perspectives for the AFMC”. Lieutenant General D P Vats,director & commandant of AFMC,inaugurated the conference. The keynote address was delivered by Dr Atul Kumar of AIIMS,New Delhi on “Diabetic Retinopathy- Magnitude & Management.” According to Brigadier Ajay Banarji,professor & head,Dept of Ophthalmology,AFMC,and chairman of the Organizing Committee,eminent ophthalmologists like Dr. TP Lahane,dean,Grant Medical College,Mumbai,Dr. Ragini Parikh from JJ Hospital,Mumbai,Dr. Mahipal Sachdev and Dr. Lalit Verma from Centre for Sight,New Delhi,Dr. Atul Kumar from AIIMS,New Delhi,Dr. AK Grover from Gangaram Hospital,New Delhi,Dr. Virender Sangwan from Dr LV Prasad Eye Institute,Secunderabad,Dr. Jagat Ram from PGI,Chandigarh,Dr. Pritam Samant and Dr. Devender Sood participated in the deliberations.

Health camp

Indus Health Plus in association with Sahyadri Hospital,Hardikar Hospital and Police Hospital (Shivajinagar) had organised a one-day preventive health check-up camp for the Retired Police Officers Welfare Association. More than 100 officers along with their families participated in this initiative held at the Police Hospital,Shivajinagar,on October 3. Various basic health tests like haemoglobin test,sugar intensity in the blood,fat intensity in the body and bone marrow density diagnosis were conducted on the day,under the expert panel of doctors from the three hospitals. Police Hospital- Shivajinagar provided all the technical support during this camp. Retired Police Officers Welfare Association was formed in 2009. Today,the Union has more than 150 members that are active in organising various seminars and camps across the city.
