She once wished to wake up to a path of roses, fill her life with music and gaze at the starry sky on a romantic night. The wish became true for this corporate professional, whose husband set up an exact dream ambience on her birthday eve with help from Surprises Occasion Management Pvt Ltd. From planning surprise birthday parties to customised gifts, the company, owned by Arpita Darooka,is making it easy for people to buy surprises for their loved ones. “On birthdays,we sneak in to the house in the wee hours to decorate the room with flowers, candles and balloons. We arrange for dinners and custom-made gifts to give our clients the perfect surprise,” says Darooka, who has planned the “weirdest” of surprises for her clients. She had set up a ‘break-up surprise’ for a girl who wanted to recover from a failed relationship. “I designed a mug which read ‘You deserve someone better’. Her room was filled with things to pamper her and a special message from her friends to make her feel happy,” she adds. The most expensive of her surprise hampers are the scented candles, customised bath robes, spa kits and a night at a five star hotel. All of it is priced at Rs 48,000 and a most sought for surprise by newly wed couples.
