Last Saturday saw the country’s top DJs spinning the best of tunes at Le Meridien. It was the grand finale of the Kingfisher Strong Folkmix,a countrywide DJ hunt that took place across 12 cities. The contest presented a combination of local music flavours and languages of the different cities. Aspirants from Uttar Pradesh had to choose Hindi folk music,while participants from Bihar had Bhojpuri as the obvious choice. The other states included Karnataka,Andhra Pradesh,Rajasthan,Bengal,Tamil Nadu,Goa,Maharashtra,Gujarat and Punjab. Samar Singh Sheikhawat,senior vice president,marketing,United Breweries Limited,said,It is encouraging to see such a pool of talent. It was about engaging with the youth on a regional music platform.”
