Grievance cell by doctors,for patients

A grievance cell to act as a buffer between patients,relatives and doctors has been set up by the Pune Obstetric and Gynaecological Society.

A grievance cell to act as a buffer between patients,relatives and doctors has been set up by the Pune Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (POGS).

It is meant to serve as a platform for patients to voice their grievances,says Dr Sanjeev Khurd,president of the POGS. “We just want to provide fair advice. Often,gynaecologists face problems from patients,’’says Khurd.

Meanwhile,POGS has organised a special programme on the World Women’s Day on March 8 to focus on well-being of women. The theme for 2010 is ‘Equal Rights,Equal Opportunities: Progress for all.”

A talk will be held and noted doctors Dr H V Sardesai and Dr V N Shrikhande,Dr Rajeev Sharangpani and Dr Mohan Agashe will hold an interactive section on March 4 at the Abasaheb Garware College auditorium.

An exhibition on women’s health will also be held and a special section allocated for information on ‘Save the Girl Child’ movement.
