Gokhale wins Open Blitz Chess Championship

Jayant Gokhale won the Every Sunday Open Blitz Chess Championship organised by the Sports Star club of Bibvewadi and held at the VIT seminar hall on sunday.

Jayant Gokhale came first with 6.5 points and earned himself Rs 500 and a trophy. Aniruddha Deshpande came in a close second with 6.2 points and earned Rs 300 along with a trophy while Chinmay Kulkarni came in third with 6.2 points. Prakash Karmarkar and Atharva Mule came in fourth and fifth place respectively with 5 points each.

The best under 9 trophy went to Sohan Zanze; the best under 11 trophy went to Pranav Jagtap; the best under 13 trophy went to Kanad Aphale; the best under 15 trophy went to Pranav Burli; the best under 17 trophy went to Soham Datar.

Rutuja Desai won the Best ladies trophy while Laxman Khude won the best veterans trophy.
