Godrej has partnered with IIT Bombay (IITB) on its mega global initiative – 10 Great Ideas to Change the World in the next 50 years announced earlier by IITB as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations. Prizes will be awarded to the ideators of the 10 best ideas. Additionally,Godrej will also support some of the potential ideas that emerge.At a press conference,Professor Devang Khakhar,Director IITB,and Adi Godrej,chairman,Godrej Industries,signed the MOU and unveiled the new joint logo of the initiative. Addressing the media,Adi Godrej,Chairman,Godrej Industries said,Godrej is happy to partner with IITB on this unique project which can bring positive change in the way we live. With this initiative,we are hoping to discover path breaking ideas that all of us will be enthused to develop in order to create a brighter,better world.
Prof Devang Khakar,director,IITB,said,IITB has always been known for the foundation it provides in cutting edge technological research and innovation. We are delighted with the enthusiasm received from around the world. We are also very happy to announce the opening out of the competition to all.
The competition is now open to anyone over the age of 18,from any country in the world. Godrej will award prizes for the 10 best ideas (in science and technology) Special award for best idea to make the world a safer place to live in (best security solution idea). Godrej or IITB will assist in incubating and developing the prospective ideas and converting them into reality. Deadline for entries is 30th May,2009 (registration on IITB website). Entries to be judged by a panel of international experts and thought leaders. Awards will be announced in August 2009.
Owners of best ideas will be invited to present a white paper at an international Round Table summit.
