Zeenat Aman walked in an hour late,but after her quick apology,she had the crowd floored. The actress was in the city on Thursday for the 14 th Umed Awards at the Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagraha,Kothrud. Marathi film producer and director Mahesh Tilekar of Shri Varadlaxmi Chitra has been organising the Umed Awards for 13 years and,this year,Aman added a special touch to it. Along with the actress,those who received the Umed Award included Vinay Pathak,Subodh Bhave,Bharat Jadhev,Smita Jaykar,Aarti Ankalikar and Amruta Khanvilkar received the Umed Awards this year. Ashok Ovhal of Ovhal Milk presented the award to Aman,who further presented the awards to others. The awardees also interacted with the audience,sharing a joke or two. They were then interviewed by well-known anchor Sudhir Gadgil. During her turn,Aman was asked if she would do a Marathi film,to which she chuckled that she would have to take lessons in the language to perfect it. She also shared some of her memorable experiences in the industry. Smita Jaykar then talked about her roles in television serials and appealed to the public to send their feedback to understand what works and what doesn’t.
