Gas explosion injures six in Thergaon

Shop owner Dilip Dhekale (40) was also injured in the incident.

An allegedly illegally stocked domestic gas cylinder at a shop in Thergaon exploded on Wednesday leaving six persons injured. The explosion,which took place around 3 pm,created panic in the area.

After the fire brigade extinguished fire at Shri Ganesh Gas Repairing Centre where the explosion took place,police seized as many as 30 gas cylinders of different sizes from the shop in Thergaon.

Police suspect that while the gas was being transferred from one cylinder to another it came in contact with fire and the cylinder exploded. Shop owner Dilip Dhekale (40) was also injured in the incident.

Other five injured have been identified as Shivanand Swami,Rakesh Parmar,Bhavesh Mane,Narayanlal Kharola,Mahendra Chavan,all citizens of Thergaon. The Hinjewadi police is investigating the case.
