Four people were killed in two separate accidents in the city on Friday and Satuday.

On early Saturday morning,a speeding truck rammed a car near Yevat on the Pune-Solapur Road killing three persons and leaving two others injured. The deceased have been identified as Ashfaq Babulal Tamboli (43) and Iqbal Tamboli (48) of Kagdipura,Kasba Peth and Arif Gafoor Tamboli (38) of Salisbury Park. The injured — Imran Iqbal Tamboli (20) and Taufiq Tamboli (23) — were admitted to a private hospital in Daund. According to the police,the Tamboli family was returning to Pune from Karamal in Solapur when a truck,going towards Solapur,collided with their car at 4.30 am. Asfaq,Iqbal and Arif died on the spot while local residents and Yevat police took the injured to the hospital. Police inspector Shankar Autade of Yevat police said that a complaint has been lodged against the unidentidied truck driver who fled the spot after the accident.

In another accident,Amirulisa Shaikh (45),who was riding pillion on a motorcycle died after being hit by a speeding truck near Sai Petrol pump on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway on late Friday evening. Shaikh,a resident of Kalewadi,was going home with her husband Amanulla Shaikh (48).
