Four held for youth’s murder

The Chatuhshrungi police on Sunday arrested four persons for allegedly murdering Amol Londhe whose body was found floating in an abandoned stone quarry on Katraj-Dehu Road bypass near Pashan on Friday.

The Chatuhshrungi police on Sunday arrested four persons for allegedly murdering Amol Londhe (25),whose body was found floating in an abandoned stone quarry on Katraj-Dehu Road bypass near Pashan on Friday. The body was spotted by workers at a nearby under-construction building. Police said the suspects had murdered him on Wednesday night as he had reportedly stolen a cellphone from the uncle of one of them a few days ago.

Londhe’s body was found dumped in the pit having tied to stones with nylon ropes. No wallet or identification was found with it. Bhimrao Tele,police inspector (crime) with Chatushrungi police station said,“based on the body marks and other identifications found on the body we identified the it the day after at was spotted.” The names of the four arrested are Siddharth Kamble,Navnath Gawade,Pramod Naiknavre and Anand Dindine. They were familiar to Londhe. All of them are about 25 years old,were reportedly unemployed and used to take up small labour works.

Tele added,“From the inquiry of the relatives of Londhe we came to know about these four. On arresting them they confessed their crime after the interrogation. According to them they had killed Londhe as he had stolen the cell phone of Siddharth Kamble’s uncle,Motiram Khope 10 days ago.” Three of the four arrested have criminal background and have been released on bail in a case of murder in Pune city. Deceased Londhe also had a case of theft registered against him,he added.
