Four held for murder

The Pune police have arrested a youth for allegedly murdering the husband of a girl with whom he was supposedly in love.

The Pune police have arrested a youth for allegedly murdering the husband of a girl with whom he was supposedly in love. The suspect,Devendra alias Chakor Umakant Pillay (20),is a resident of Khadki Bazar. Police have also arrested his accomplices Yogesh Jadhav (18),Daniel Robert (20) and a minor boy,all residents of Khadki.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IV) Jalinder Supekar said the suspects were nabbed on April 27 during the investigation of a theft case. During their interrogation,they confessed to have murdered Stanley Mary (26),a resident of Khadakwasla,on April 23.

The investigation revealed that Pillay was in love with Stanley’s wife.

She had reportedly refused to marry Pillay. Pillay and his aides allegedly assaulted Stanley to death near the Kamshet railway station on April 23. Police recovered Stanley’s dead body after a week.

The suspects have been bookedunder section 302 of the Indian Penal Code,said police.
