Five chain-snatching incidents were reported in the city Tuesday. In the first incident,two unidentified motorcyclists snatched a gold chain worth Rs 45,000 from Snehalata Devashish Chakravarti near Pooja Hospital in Pimple Gurav around 8.30 am. A resident of Elphinstone Road in Khadki,Snehalata lodged a complaint with Sangvi police.
Similarly,two motorcycle borne youths snatched a gold chain worth Rs 80,000 from Sandhya Ramesh Naik (52),a resident of Shaniwar Peth. The incident took place around 9.45 am in Narayan Peth. Naik lodged a complaint with Vishrambag police.
In the third incident,Vimala Durga Sahayyamishra (56) was going to a grocery shop with her husband,when two bikers snatched her gold chain worth Rs 45,000 around 10.30 am near Ganga Samruddhi building in Wanavdi. A native of Chandrapur,Vimala had come to Pune to live with her nephew. Vimala filed a complaint with Wanavdi police.
In another incident,a 72-year-old woman,Nalini Dattatraya Kulkarni was was walking near Hotel Radhika in Aundh,when two bikers snatched her gold chain worth Rs 32,000 around 8.45 am. She lodged a complaint with Chatushringi police.
Another woman,Manisha Madan Bapat (53) was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs 75,000 at Deep Bungalow chowk around 9.30 am.
Bapat lodged a complaint with Shivajinagar police.
