Finance dept of ZP to be computerised

The finance department of Pune Zilla Parishad office will soon be completely computerised. The move,that was initiated by ZP CEO Sanjiv Kumar,will facilitate accessing all the information and files at the click of the mouse. “We recently started computerising all the details related to General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts. It will be done within a month. We are in the process of adopting software Priyasoft that was introduced by the Central government to maintain accounts at village panchayat,block panchayat and zilla parishad level,” said Jeetendra Kolambe,chief accounts and finance officer.

Currently,ZP is using another software on trial and error basis in the finance department. When it proves a successful,the department plans to implement it. The software will enable online viewing of the expenditure made at taluka level and ZP level. “Details like bank reconciliation statement,cheque withdrawal,income tax deduction,vat deduction and others,will be made available online,” added Kolambe.

Every department will be given one unicode number and by entering that number one will fetch the required information. Kolambe said incorporating the software and technology will reduce the time wasted on browsing through ledgers,vouchers and bills for one single information.

Another feature to be added in the software is filtering of transactions. “One can filter the information through cheque number,vendor-wise,supply-wise,cheque drawn date,amount and so on,” said Kolambe.

Pune Zilla Parishad website http://www.punezp.in,which is currently off the link due to technical reasons,will soon have a new and improved look. Though the name of the website is yet to be finalised,it is most likely to be http://www.punezp.gov.in. “Development of the activities carried out by different departments will be updated on the website,” said Anand Pusavale,Deputy CEO General,ZP.
