Theres something about old cars. They ooze a sense of an era of uncomplicated times,when families cherished the lone family car.
At a press conference held in the city on Tuesday,the Fiat Classic Car Club of India (FCCCI) announced the theme for this years Independence Day rally. We are going to pay homage to the leaders of our nation, said a representative of the club.
FCCCI is a citizens initiative celebrating the car company that gave many families in India a new lease on life. Anyone who owns a Fiat car can be a part of the group. Founded in 2004,it boasts of members between the ages of 18 and 89.
Their Independence day rallies are looked forward to by many car enthusiasts in the city,who get to see various models of the Fiat through the decades,driven by members of the club.
This year,the rally will begin from LBS Road,where FCCCI Pune members will pay homage to the statue of Lal Bahadur Shastri. They will then proceed to Niwara,an old-age home which completes 150 years this month.
