Express,Big Bazaar to organise Ganesh idol-making workshop

The Big Bazaar in association with The Indian Express will organise a Shadu Mati Ganesh idol-making workshop at Big Bazaar outlets in Kothrud,Pimpri and Amanora. The workshop will be held at Kothrud on September 4-5 ,Pimpri on September 6-7 and Amanora on September 8-9.

MIT English and Marathi High School,Kothrud,Gnyan Prabhodini,Pimpri,Sundarabai Marathi High School,Hadapsar will participate in the event with as many as 600 children attending the workshop over the next six days.The workshop will be held daily in two batches of around 50 students each.

Renowned sculpture artist Abhijit Dhondphale will conduct the workshop. The idols will be sold for Rs 21 and Rs 51 at the stores. The money raised by selling these idols will be used by an NGO for child welfare.

The prize distribution ceremony will be on September 22 and the best three idols from each store will win gift vouchers worth Rs 15,000. The winners will receive a gift voucher worth Rs 2,500 along with a certificate.

The first and second runners up will be awarded Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
