A 25-year-old youth on Friday drowned in a swimming pool on the campus of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) in Wanowrie,reportedly after he had an epileptic attack.
According to Wanawadi police,Abhijeet Bapusaheb Jagdale of Vikasnagar in Wanowrie,a post graduate in political science,preparing for civil service examinations,had gone to the pool around 7 am along with friends.
At 7.30 am,he reportedly had an epileptic attack and started to drown. Lifeguards at the spot took him out of the pool after which he was rushed to a hospital in Hadapsar,where he was declared dead before treatment.
We learnt that he had epilepsy and was taking medication for that. The post-mortem report said he drowned,
police said.
Police added that Jagdale had recently cleared a stage of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination and was preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil service exam.
For his preparations,Jagdale was in Delhi for the past four to five months and had returned to Pune to visit his parents. His father Bapusaheb Jagdale works for a co-operative bank in Wanowrie and his mother is an officer with the state transport department.
