The Pimpri-Chinchwad Patrakar Sangh and the Anna Hazare-Prerith Bharatachar Virodhi Andolan have organised a English speaking course for poor students,ordinary citizens,civc activists,police constables and officers,mahila mandals,housewives,corporators and teachers from Marathi medium schools. The course is for three months duration,but will be extended till the students fully grasp the language. It will be conducted at Vividh Bharati,Kasarwadi,stated a press note.
On Republic Day,the course was inaugurated by Pimpri-Chinchwad Deputy Mayor Sharad Borhade in presence of corporator Vasant Londhe,Patrakar Sangh chief Nandkumar Saturdekar, civic activist Hemant Nahata and senior citizen Daji Shelkhe.
Speaking on the occasion,Borhade said,”English was the need of the hour. Without knowing the language,it is difficult to go around the world. When I went on a civic tour to a foreign land,I realised how English is the language in most of the cities.” Endorsing the views,Londhe too said if students had to face the increasingly competitive world,they cannot do away with English. “English is a must language spoken by millions across the world,” he said. Saturdekar said the course will help Marathi journalists’ aspiring to change over to English journalism. He said the course fee is nominal compared to what is charged by private institutes.

The event was i naugurated by Minocher Patel at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday. There will also be a display of over 100 New Books on Management which will be available for issue on 5 February. The event is open to all on a first come first served basis.

Devendra Shah elected
Devendra Shah has been elected chairman of Sharad Bank,Manchar. Bank director Datta Thorat had recommended Shah’s name for this post.
He has been elected unanimously for the sixth time.
