Corporators at the general body meeting on Monday criticised the civic administration over its failure to check encroachments on nullahs, which leads to flood-like situation during monsoon.
Corporators from all parties alleged that the civic administration has not learnt lessons from the past experience. Agitated corporators said the civic administration should make public the list of encroachments, including structures by prominent builders, and the action taken against them.
As the civic administration was unable to defend itself,it was decided that a detailed explanation would be given in the next general body meeting on April 30.
It was decided to provide all possible financial support to the civic administration to complete pre-monsoon work in time. The administration will get available manpower, machinery and fuel to get the work done to ensure there is no flood-like situation during monsoon.
