Efficiency must go hand-in-hand with transparency: Ajit

“Efficiency should be combined with transparency, with the common citizen at the centre of governance,” Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Friday. He emphasised that the government stands firmly behind those committed to good work and added that with strong willpower, meaningful change is possible.

He was speaking at the divisional-level award distribution ceremony of the second phase of the ‘100-Day Office Improvement Campaign’, launched by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to promote citizen-centric administration.

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (MSEDCL) Pune Regional Office bagged the first place while Baramati zonal office secured the second. Certificates of appreciation were given to Wadia Sub-Division and Chakan MIDC Sub-Division.

On the occasion, Pawar felicitated Bhujang Khandare, director, Pune Regional Office of MSEDCL; Dharmaraj Pethkar, chief engineer, Baramati; Sunil Gawli, additional executive engineer, Wadia Sub-Division and Prakash Shelke, deputy executive engineer, Chakan Sub-Division.

Ajit Pawar praised the efforts of the officers and urged others to follow their example. “By adopting new methods and embracing technology, we can save citizens time and effort, and make the administration more people-oriented,” he said.

The 100-day campaign focused on improving services for citizens, enhancing digital customer service, modernizing office facilities, streamlining grievance redressal, and adopting efficient management practices. Regional offices from Pune, Konkan, and Nagpur took part, and their performance was evaluated by the Quality Council of India. Pune Regional Office of MSEDCL emerged as the top-performing region in the second phase.
