Dada Vaswani to address teachers
The Sadhu Vaswani Mission will organise a gathering of the teachers fraternity in the city,in which they will be addressed by Dada JP Vaswani. He will speak on New education can make the world new. This will be followed by a question-answer session. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Pune,Dr RK Shevgaonkar,will be the chief guest. The meeting will be organised at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission Campus,10 Sadhu Vaswani Path,Pune Camp from 11 am on August 27.
Celebrating Tagore
Amanora School,a part of the Pearson Schools chain,today commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore by organising a function titled Celebrating Tagore. Various competitions were held based on the works of Tagore-impressions and brought out the creative skills of children. The students took the audience on a historical journey with tableaux on Tagores contributions during the pre-independence era of the freedom struggle. The cultural inter-school competition for all age-groups began with a musical,art and cultural extravaganza on Tagore.
Teachers felicitated
On the eleventh year of its functioning,the Kumar Builder Foundation felicitated two teachers from rural Maharashtra schools for their outstanding contribution in the field of education and conferred two schools with Aadarsh Shaala puraskara. The two schools to be given the prize were Shree Kolheshwar Vidyalay and Junior College of Arts,Tandoolwadi,Manglapur,Tal Koregaon,Dist Saatara and Hutatma Umaji Naik School,Bhiwandi,Tal Purandar,Dist Pune. The schools were awarded second and third position respectively.
Computerised library
The computerisation of the Nutan Marathi Vidyalay prashalas library was inaugurated by Mohan Singh Rajpal,Mayor of Pune recentlyy . On this occasion Anant Mate,vice president,Shishan Prasarak Mandali,Jayant Shaligram,chairman of school education committee and Nanda Mane,secretary were present. The main aim of the project will be to cultivate good reading habits and development of personality,said Ravindra Bam of the NMV School.
