HBSE said the Supreme Court has not made Aadhaar compulsory for examinations, but has allowed it to be accepted as one of the identity proofs. In line with the apex court’s directions, Aadhaar has therefore not been made mandatory for HTET 2026.

The Haryana Board on Wednesday clarified that candidates applying for the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026 are not required to mandatorily submit their Aadhaar number at the time of application.

In an official statement, Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) Secretary Munish Sharma, said that applicants can complete the HTET 2026 application process using identity documents other than Aadhaar, including PAN card, Voter ID, Passport or any other valid government-issued identity proof.

Explaining the rationale, Sharma said the Supreme Court has not made Aadhaar compulsory for examinations, but has allowed it to be accepted as one of the identity proofs. In line with the apex court’s directions, Aadhaar has therefore not been made mandatory for HTET 2026.
