The provisional list for admission to bi-focal courses in junior colleges was put up at the Fergusson College (FC),Nowrosjee Wadia College,Abasaheb Garware College,SP College and Shri Mhaslakant Secondary and Higher Secondary School,Akurdi on Tuesday. However,the grievances of students will be heard only at the Fergusson College and Nowrosjee Wadia from 10 am to 4 pm on Wednesday. The final merit list will be put up on Thursday.

Free seminar for students

Advance IT training for Muslim students

Muslim students at the Madarsa- Baitul- Ulum are being given advance training in technical education and information technology. This is a unique example of madarsas coming into mainstream education. All students at this madarsa had appeared for Class X exams at Ummat Urdu School and scored a 100 per cent result. Students belonging to poor families from Sawantwadi,Kondwa,Mumbai,Ahmednagar and Pimpri are taking advanced and formal education in this school.

YCMOU to help students get degree

Students interested in public services can get a bachelors or post-graduate degree with the help of the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU). Chanakya Mandal,which was founded by former IAS officer Avinash Dharmadhari,has designed and developed the curriculum and study materials for the two new courses that have been recognised by the YCMOU.

Three books on ayurveda released

The Institute of Indian Medicine released the second edition of three books on ayurveda written by Prof P H Kulkarni. The books titled Drugs of Ayurveda,Ayurveda- Philosophy and Practice and The Digestive System- Care and Cure were released the other day. Speaking on the occasion,Dr Kulkarni said,“For the past 30 years,the institute has been publishing the latest research in Ayurveda. A total of 188 books,of which 131 are English and 57 are in Marathi,have been released so far.”
