DSK Foundation recently organised a function to felicitate SSC students who performed well in the board exams. As many as 44 students,including students from PMC-run and various other schools,who scored above 85 per cent overcoming adversity and inadequate facilities were felicitated.
Speaking at the event D S Kulkarni,Chairman & Managing Director,DS Kulkarni Developers Ltd,said,Doing business is still not considered good. Parent expect their wards to get excellent marks and bag highly paid jobs. However,every kid should think out of the box. Instead of becoming job seekers they must try to become job givers. They should develop skills to become successful entrepreneurs.
Stressing that healthy competition is important for growth,Kulkarni said,There is no alternative to hard work and no shortcut to success. Students should not get carried away by success or disheartened by failures. It is important to inculcate practical approach towards education along with theoretical knowledge. The age group of 5 -15 years is very important in students life. It is the time when their likes and dislikes are developed that ultimately decide their career.
Punctuality,time management,never say No attitude and positive mindset are key ingredients to achieve success,he added.
Teachers from the PMC-run schools were also honoured on the occasion. A special child Navnath Shinde was felicitated for setting up a musical institute inspite of being blind.
