Draft recruitment rules for civic body approved

NCP leader Subhash Jagtap said some necessary changes have been suggested and it was only up to the state government to include them or not.

“We noticed that citizens with higher qualification such as post graduate degree were applying for the posts of class four in PMC which stipulates minimum qualification of class 10. They were scoring more than those with the minimum qualification in the written test and this was taking away their chance of getting recruited. Thus,the suggestion of putting restrictions on highly qualified candidates along with the criteria of minimum qualification has been made in the rules,” he added.

Jagtap said they have suggested to limit the number of state government officers getting appointed to civic body on deputation. It has been decided that they should be allowed to work on certain specific positions,he added.

“The civic body will ensure that the state government officers on deputation serve at least for two years,” he said.

Jagtap said that he expects the state government to sanction 4,000 more posts for the civic body as assured on in the recruitment rules. “This will pave way for new posts for civic body and ease the load on existing staff as they have to carry responsibility of more than one post,” he added.
