Ahead of the monsoon,district collectors have been directed to submit updated disaster management plan to Principal Secretary (Relief and Rehabilitation) before May 30. On Friday,all district collectors from the state gathered and presented their monsoon preparedness plan and the measures taken up in their divisions in the workshop organised at YASHADA in the city. A directive was issued by the Principal Secretary (Relief and Rehabilitation) Praveensinh Pardeshi,instructing district collectors to follow the updated district disaster management plan,updated standard operating procedures,repair,maintainance and positioning of flood rescue equipment,conduct refresher trainings for the district search and rescue teams through the National Disaster Rescue Force. The instructions include special refresher training to the flood rescue teams in the districts vulnerable to floods and the district control room staff. All districts have also been asked to ready various types of information,education and communication material consisting of dos and donts and other information regarding hazards which are frequently experienced in the districts. Testing and repairing of communication equipment have also been directed by the principal secretary.
