Serving authentic Maharashtrian homemade food for over 12 years,Kaveri Hotel is the city’s hot-spot for lip smacking bhakris and mutton thalis
For all those who keep longing for delicious home food, here is an ideal place to be. Unlike many hotels that serve their own version of homemade food,Kaveri Hotel in Chandni Chowk,Bavdhan,is one place that ensures that delicacy and taste of typical Maharashtraian Thali remains untouched by commercialisation.
The hospitality combined with the menu that boasts of bhakari, pithla, pickle, onion and chutney along with non-vegetarian specialties such as chicken, mutton gravies worked wonders for the hotel. The increasing appreciation from the customers resulted in opening three other branches at Chandni chowk,Balewadi and Khed shivapur. While outstation students and professionals remain our prime customers, our guest list includes food lovers from all the professions such as politics, films,IAS officers and so on, says Satav who fondly recollects serving actor Girish Oak,Sayaji Shinde, musicians Ajay-Atul and so on.
While most of the restaurants have portrayed Maharashtrian, especially Kolhapuri food as spicy, what we serve at Kaveri is a medium spiced version of the same. In fact our preparations are different from those in the market. Our specialty remains Alni Mutton which is boiled mutton served with turmeric and salt. Other food items served here include Baigan, matki usal, rassa, thecha and so on, adds Satav.
With a capacity of 100 tables each in all the restaurants, financial gain is a secondary motive for Satav. Satisfaction is what counts most. That is the reason that weve priced our thalis between Rs 80 to90 and that too with unlimited food. Food cannot be valued in terms of money. The best moments of the day are not about counting the collection, but about the times when our customers come to us thanking us for the service and the food promising us that they will come back o us the next time they think of enjoying authentic Maharashtrian homemade food, smiles Satav.
