Crimebriefs: Army jawan arrested for killing wife

Cops said Samadhan Kisan Jadhav strangulated his wife Pratibha and then reported to work.

“When he returned in the afternoon,he raised an alarm saying Pratibha had fallen unconscious. She was taken to a hospital. The doctors,however, found that Pratibha had died a few hours ago and the post mortem revealed that she had been strangulated. We arrested Samadhan after he confessed to the murder.”

Samadhan is with the artillery unit,police said. A Pune court has remanded him in police custody till Tuesday.

Three held for killing two labourers

A DAY after decomposed bodies two labourers were found dumped in a well in Shindewadi,Rajgad police arrested three persons in connection with the case.

On Saturday,the fire brigade had fished out bodies of Ramnath Gupta,23,and Kisandev Gupta,22,from a well near Shindewadi.

Police said both the bodies were tied to each other.

Inspector Sanjay Bothe of Rajgad police station said,“A contractor had registered a missing complaint with us on July 11.Based on a tip-off and the statement of the third person who was accompanying the victims,we arrested three persons. They have confessed to the crime.”

The three suspects ahve been identified as Navnath Bandal,24,Punjab Shinde,21 and Vasant Shinde also aged 21.
