From dance festivals to musical performances and a photography workshop,the citys art scene is set to bustle with activity in the coming days
Art
* The J Studio Art Gallery has arranged a group painting exhibition by artists Praful Jadhavar and Sanjay Zambre from April 21-28. All art lovers can enjoy this exhibition at J Studio Art Gallery,New Balewadi between 11 am and 7 pm.
* The Society of Indian Marine Artists (SIMA) has organised an exhibition of seascapes of Indias fishing villages,temples,forts and monuments at the Balgandharva Kala Dalan on Saturday,April 25 and 26 from 11.30 am onwards.
Dance
* The Max Mueller Bhavan has organised the Prayatna Dance Film Festival on April 24,25,28 and 29. The event will witness live performances of different dance styles and documentaries on choreographers. The institute has also organised a four-day-long dance festival on the occasion of the International Day of Dance starting April 29,from 7 pm onwards.
* The Naadanam Nritya Kala Academy will stage Nritya Sanchit,an enchanting journey of Indian Dance on April 30,5 pm onwards at the Yashwant Rao Chavan Auditorium,Kothrud.
* Another dance festival will be staged by the Sumeru School of Dance and Performing Arts,when it organises its Annual Dance Festival named Centre of the Universe,on April 24 at the Yashwant Rao Chavan Auditorium between 5.30 and 7.30 pm.
Theatre
* Dishari has organised a unique workshop titled The 50-Hour Workshop on Theatrical Arts,spread over three weekends on April 18 and 19,April 25 and 26 and May 1,2 and 3. Right from training in voice modulation,breathing control and enhancing reflexes,the workshop will also impart fundamental training on set designing,light direction,props and make-up.
* Swatantra Theatre has organised a seminar on Indian Theatre Today on April 27from 6.30 to 8.30 pm. The seminar will help understand the basics of modern theatre,role of theatre in cinema and ways to increase creativity.
Music
* Aperture India is playing host to a concert in melody-oriented Hindi music by composer and singer Dr Salil Latay on April 26,7pm onwards at Aperture India,F C Road.
* Gyanvardhan,National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and P L Deshpande Foundation will present a musical performance by Ramakant Gaekwad and Shivani Marulkar at the Manohar Mangal Karyalaya,Erandwane on April 24 from 5.30 pm onwards.
* Humlog will present Saat Suron Ke Saathi,a concert based on Shankar-Jaikishan’s Songs,which will be held on April 26,9.30 pm onwards at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium. Among the singers will be Vaibhavi Joshi,Hrishikeash Ranade,Yogita Pathak and Prashant Naseri.
Workshop
* Learn the latest skills of photography at a photography workshop organised by Aperture India. The workshop,conducted by Jayji,is meant for both grown-ups and kids and begins on April 27 at Aperture India,F C Road.
* Learn to mould attractive designs from clay at a pottery workshop conducted by Gauri Gandhi at Atelier Boutique,Baner Road from April 24 to 26.
