Court diary: CBI office better than jail?

After Col A K Singh,presiding officer of examinations at the NDA,was sent to Yerawada prison,Singh reportedly told CBI officials,“I have a feeling that the CBI office would be better than the Yerawada jail.”

PUNE: After Col A K Singh,presiding officer of examinations at the NDA,was sent to Yerawada prison,Singh reportedly told CBI officials,“I have a feeling that the CBI office would be better than the Yerawada jail.” His daughter had made an effort to get him released from CBI custody. Singh is one of the six accused in the NDA recruitment scam.

SPP seeks 2 weeks for his say on Pujari case approver plea

PUNE: Special public prosecutor Harshad Nimbalkar has sought two weeks to submit his say on Rajesh Choudhary’s application to make him an approver in the Nayana Pujari case as his family was receiving threats from another accused Yogesh Raut,who is absconding. Choudhary had given the application earlier this month. The next date of hearing is August 6.

Jyotikumari case: Order on appeal on August 6

PUNE: The Bombay High Court bench of V M Kanade and P D Kode has deferred the order on the criminal appeal by Pradeep Kokade and Purushottam Borate till August 6. The two were convicted by the Pune Sessions court for rape and murder of BPO employee Jyotikumari Choudhary.
