Cops foil dacoity bid,arrest 3 in Nana Peth

Foiling a dacoity bid,the Pune police arrested three persons and seized two country-made pistols and sharp weapons from them. The suspects have been identified as Mohsin Javed Shaikh (24),Abhijit Dattatraya Mohite (19) and Saifali Abdul Kadir Patel (19),all residents of Yerwada.

Acting on a tip-off to police naik Ajay Thorat,a team of Samarth police station laid a trap near Padamji Park in Nana Peth on Sunday evening. The trio,along with two accomplices,reached the place on two motorcycles.

A team led by assistant inspector Sunil Gaikwad managed to nab three suspect,but their two accomplices managed to escape from the spot. Police have recovered two country made pistols,a chopper,chilly powder,two motorcycles and a mobile phone,all worth Rs 56,335 from the suspects.

Police said that the gang was preparing to commit dacoity at a bungalow near Padamji Park.
