Police also seized about 1,500 litres of hat bhatti along with equipment and material used for making liquor illegally. (File Photo)Pune city police have busted an illegal country liquor unit at a farm land in Wadgaon Shinde village in Haveli taluka.
Police seized chemicals worth Rs 1.05 crore, which is used for making liquor commonly known as ‘hat bhatti’, as per a press release issued Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team of social security cell led by senior police inspector Bharat Jadhav raided the illegal liquor unit on Tuesday.
During the action, policemen seized about 2.1 lakh litres of chemicals hidden in underground tanks at the location. Police also seized about 1,500 litres of hat bhatti along with equipment and material used for making liquor illegally.
Police arrested three persons at the spot and lodged an FIR against them at Lonikand police station under section 328, 34 of the Indian Penal code and sections of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.
