AIHM celebrations
Success will be the flavour of the annual day celebrations of Ambrosia Institute of Hotel Management (AIHM) as the institute will celebrate the 100 per cent placement of the first batch of BSc Hospitality Studies (B Sc HS) for the year 2009- 10. To be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12 at the Ambrosia Resort in Bavdhan,the annual day celebrations will witness grand performances from the students of AIHM. An evening filled with energy,enthusiasm and the spirit of achievement,the event will witness dance performances,comedy shows and musical performances. One of the major attractions of the day will be a fashion show put up by the second year BSc HS students. The crème de la crème of the hospitality industry will make their presence felt at the celebrations that will start at 6.30 pm on Wednesday. This is a result of the hard work put in by the experienced staff members of AIHM. For the first batch that is passing out this year,we have achieved 100 per cent placement with all our students getting placed in leading names in the hospitality industry. What adds to the success is the fact that 50 per cent of the students belong to economically backward class who have been given admissions as per our scholarship programme, said Mahua Narayan,managing director,Ambrosia Resorts.
Gaming fun at SeamEdu
Seamless Education Academy (SeamEdu) organised a Game Meet that was held from April 3 to April 24. On April 3,Rohit Gupta from Rolocule conducted a session on Game Design. Girish Dhakephalkar held a session on Game Programming on April 10. Given his technical and structured thinking,Dhakephalkar gave a presentation on Game Programming that was full of insights. Bhushan Samant,founder of Pune based online game company Playssium Technologies,conducted the session on online game development on April 17. At present,Bhushan has focused on developing mobile games and in particular,games for the I-Phone/I-Pad (is it I-pad or I-pod pls check). The last workshop was on Game Design and understanding Fun in Games. Atul Manohar,Shantanu Kulkarni and Mayuresh Shirolkar conducted it on April 24. Participants played games,created skits and designed Mini Games on the industry of their choice. The topics covered were – opening ones mind to new,innovative experiences,what makes games fun and how to define fun,tapping opportunity to use serious game as a means of fun-filled instruction and last but not the least,the business part of developing games.
Flame Convocation Ceremony
The second FLAME (Foundation for Liberal And Management Education) convocation ceremony concluded amid cheers with 86 elated students graduating in the presence of the teachers,directors and parents. R Goplakrishnan Director of Tata Sons graced the occassion as the Chief Guest and addressed the students at the convocation along with other guests like the founder directors Nemish Shah,Vallabh Bhansali,Anu Aga and Anil Singhvi. From the School of Business,Gold Medals were awarded to Bani Anand and Sonal Rajapurkar. During his speech R Gopalakrishnan said,The need of today is adaptability,desire for entrepreneurship,energy,activeness,drive,networking,and to bring in success by building the competencies of the team and the organisation. From the School of Communication,Hemal Mehta was awarded the gold medal. All rounder gold medals were awarded to Vishal Mehta and Aditi Upreti.
