Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation is all set to reward top three self help groups in the city on the basis of their performance. As per the proposal,which was tabled in the women and child welfare committee,the civic body would reward the top three self help groups every year with a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh,Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively. The self help groups with extraordinary performance will be rewarded. This will motivate them to work hard, said Hanumant Nazirkar,incharge,Urban Community Development (UCD),PMC.
Minor girl at observation home dies,probe begins
pune: A seven-year-old girl from Newasa in Nagar district,lodged at an observation home in Pune since last two months,died under mysterious circumstances on Friday morning. The police said the girl was a witness to the case in which her mother was found dead. the High Court had ordered that the case be probed as a murder. The police have identified the deceased as Kalyani Gite and are waiting for the autopsy report. Two months ago,the girl and her younger brother were shifted to SOS Balgram,an observation home run by an NGO in Yerwada.
