After a long hiatus from the silver screen actress Preeti Jhangiani,who shot to fame with her debut film Mohabbatein,is returning to movies. Playing the lead role in the upcoming film Dekh Yeh Hai Mumbai,Jhangiani says,My character in the film is that of a girl who is born with a silver spoon. Her name is Jhalak and she has been bought up by her brother. Jhangiani who had moved to the television and also to regional cinema says that her character in the film is called Jhalak. I know I wasn’t acting for a while but it didn’t feel like so while I returned in front of the camera. I was on a long maternal leave but this feels exciting, she says. The film which was shot in 30 days has been directed by Sneh Tuli. Sneh has this driving vision and clarity. I had heard the script before and I was intrigued. Her direction just bought a sense of passion and freshness to the film, she says adding,My character is obsessed with acting,and her brother even goes to the extent of starting a film for her. What follows is the tale of the movie. It is a comedy film with sarcastic overtones. However it is not something that people will not relate to. The characters all have real life shades to them. The film is slated for release in mid-July.

Jewellery Designer Chetna Nanda is showcasing her collection of contemporary jewellery at the Sonam Hall on Karve Road. The exhibition,which began on June 20 is on till June 22 and will feature brilliant unusual stones set in beads along with gold and silver jewellery from the Chitih collection The exhibition is on from 10.30 am to seven pm.
